Start-up Idea: No more hours of browsing to order food online!

We all have been there and most of us say “you order no”. It always work like a mirror, whomever you say this to, they will say the same back to you. This cycle goes on and on. The worst part is, if you try this phrase with your girlfriend… 😶‍🌫️

People are frustrated with the browsing part of ordering food, and they would love to accept someone who takes up that hefty job of browsing.

Here, that jobber is going to be an AI model who understands the level of hungriness (is that even a word 🤥), number of people who are ready to intake some delicious french fries, past dishes they have ordered online and rated 5 star, etc. I just shared 3 of the attributes you can use to create your AI model. The more attributes you have, the more the cart looks economically delicious for the customers. I will be sharing more attributes at the later stage of this post.

Now, let’s get into our favourite part. How are we going to make money with this sh#t?

1. If you are familiar with API, you will get this better. For those of you who doesn’t have any idea, here you go: API (Application programming interface), it is a software intermediary that allows two applications to talk to each other. In this case, your AI model and food delivery app out there will talk each other to make lives much more easier! If you need more explanation on this topic, you can check out this — I personally recommend this read for those who are not sure about APIs.

2. Your AI model will be an extra feature on these apps. There are endless possibilities for them to place your AI model put into work. Like having a switch button on their cart page saying ‘Switch to automatic cart’ or even they can name a cute name like Sofia 🤪 for the cute little AI model you have.

3. As you can smell it, it is going somewhere like ‘white label software as a service’. aBsoLuTeLy

4. Now you might be thinking, what if 2 of the apps in my city have you on board and is it going to create conflict of interest. Yup; don’t let that happen. What you can do is — offer exclusivity city wise. For instance, Uber Eats can have this feature in and around New York City and not in California. Because, your California slot’s bid is higher which is already taken by DoorDash for a period of 1 year contract. You can either provide exclusivity to your clients or not. It’s all upto you and the market needs.

5. Pricing. You can charge $0.3 to $2 for every successful food delivery that was ⚡️ by your technology/AI model. According to Morgan Stanley, in US alone, food delivery apps made around 25B dollars in sales in 2020. This opportunity of becoming a parasite in this industry is going to be immense. By capturing 1% of the market, you can turn your company into a unicorn (all depends on your entrepreneurial skills and situations you are going through).

Now, next question is all about survival…
1.
There’s a very good chance of people copying your thing and they doing it their own way. Shit happens. Survival in this depends on how good your AI model is. If your model is so powerful enough to read customers’ mind, no one can stop you. How can you make your AI model smarter? Have more attributes. I have mentioned few of them above. Few more:
a) Ask customers about flavours to select a perfect dish for them: Indian Masala, Kerala Spices, Less Spicy, Olive kick, etc. All the suggestions should be ranked based on their past purchases with 5 star rating.
b) Allergies
c) If there are more than 1 person ready to eat something delicious, you should design the app in a way to ask questions or collect data from each and every person.
d) Enable “refresh cart” feature, if the one doesn’t like the way the cart looks like, they can just refresh to switch between restaurants seamlessly.
e) Ask what’s their order budget and your AI model should be able to cope up with the same.
f) VERY POWERFUL: You have access to customer data of any popular food delivery apps or directories. This is quite hard to crack this deal, but this single aspect is going to be your unfair advantage over copy cats.

2. Food apps making their own AI model. If you are going for exclusivity, chances of getting this in your way is more. But you know what, why do website plugins exist? Because, that’s the cheaper way to have high/low complex tasks at a very cheaper rate. Cos, you don’t need to hire a fresh team and train them. You already have a team who can work for you at performance basis! And that team is your AI company 😎

And also, they are not gonna waste their money in research and development, if you can do that for them. Development of this particular AI model, sky is the limit. You and your engineers can improve this a lot!

Miscellaneous:
1. Hiring — You need to hire a ‘Data Expert’ and Full-Stack Developer in-house
2. Vendor Source — If you require a Sales Team and Initial Development Team outsourced, write to us: support@grabotunity.com
3. Investment — $9,000 — $35,000 (approximate burn until your first deal)
4. Difficulty of sales: 3/5. You don’t need a big sales team, cos you just have to close few deals in certain cities to get you started to grow further.

That’s it for today! If you have any questions, click on the support button on the left bottom or write to us support@grabotunity.com

Shameless plug: We will be soon coming in with a publication on medium. We would require your help in making that happen. Please do follow my profile and let’s make it to 100 followers (eligibilty to start a publication). Publication will be EPIC. I will be inviting TOP entrepreneurs to write about ideas they always wanted to do, but never happened due to shiny object syndrome or other probs. So, let’s get it done 🤞🏼❤ Thank you so much :)
